Hi guys,

I have googled a lot, but couldnt find a solution for a computer problem I have.

The problem
On my computer, I have 2 hard disks, 3 partitions. Partion C and E being one hard disk, which is quite new. D on an old one. On my E partition, I get all my downloads from the Internet.
However, since 2 weeks or so, when my E partition is heavily used, my mouse quits working (when downloading/watching movie). At least, the pointer freezes, but the mouse remains working (although you don't see it on the screen, you sometimes see highlights when you hover over things, but the mouse pointer remains where it is).
I don't have this with my C or D partitions. I have to restart my computer in order to get my mouse working properly again.
I used checkdisk and Symantec Disk Doctor, but both don't recognize a problem with the disk. Furthermore, I have the latest drivers installed.

I really have no clue what could be the problem... Do you?

No hardware changes recently. No spyware and viruses found. And I did not change any drivers recently.
Stupid mouse...

What mouse do you use ? (USB,ps2)

For me it sounds like a problem with the interrupts. That the controller of the harddrive and mouse uses the same interrupt ? I know pci has interrupts sharing, but sometimes it doesn't work. Sad

greetings
til
